Killeen police are investigating three robberies that took place within mere minutes of each other Monday night.

The first occurred at Gateway Food Mart at 104 West Elms Road at 10:35 PM. An employee told police two men walked in with masks on their faces. One kept lookout by the front door while the second pointed a gun and demanded cash.

The employee picked up a baseball bat and walked toward the armed man, who fired a shot that missed. The employee hit the gunman with the bat, temporarily knocking him down. The two men then fled empty-handed.

The second robbery was committed at the Star Mart at 1704 Old FM 440 fifteen minutes later. Again, two men entered, and one kept lookout while the other demanded cash. The suspects then fled the scene with the money.

Finally, the Star Mart at 4002 Watercrest Road was robbed at 11 PM, again by two men – one keeping lookout, one pointing a gun and demanding cash before they both fled with cash.

No injuries were reported.
