Tiny Town in Texas is ‘Leap Year Capital of the World’

The tiny town of Anthony, TX has declared itself the Leap Year Capital of the World. If you're a Leap Baby, born on Feb. 29, they want to hear from you!

In 1988, a couple of ladies living in the Texas border town approached the chamber of commerce with the idea to host a festival and birthday party for anyone born on Leap Day, Feb. 29th.

Leap babies themselves, they coordinated the first festival and every four since the town of Anthony celebrates anyone and everyone born on Feb. 29 who registers. Are you a leap baby and wanting to get in on the celebration? Check out the Anthony, TX Facebook page to join the fun!

Also, tradition states that Leap Day is the one opportunity that women have to propose the male suitor in their life as depicted in the film 'Leap Year' starring Amy Adams and Matthew Goode.
