Traffic Alert North of Temple Along I-35 Southbound

An accident on the south bound side of Interstate 35 has had traffic crawling for the last hour or so. The trouble begins just north of Troy and goes all the way back to Bruceville-Eddy.

The accident is near Big Elm Creek and I-35 at mile marker 310. The estimated back up was up to about 4 miles of traffic at a stand still. No information has been released yet regarding how many vehicles are involved in this accident. If you are doing some holiday shopping this Friday, authorities advise you avoid this area if possible. Rain and drizzle continues to fall in some areas of Bell County this afternoon so please drive safely.

Tx-Dot says the incident was reported just after 11am Friday, and advised southbound travelers to expect delays. The access road is open through the area.
