Tropical Storm Bill Leaves Lasting Impact Along I-35

From mountains crumbling to flood waters rising, I-35 has seen its share of trouble this week due to flooding rain from Tropical Storm Bill, and for the 2nd time in less than a week a portion of one of the nation's busiest highways could be closed.

Boulders came crashing down during a mudslide in the Arbuckle Mountains of Southern Oklahoma, closing northbound lanes.  The closure has led to traffic being diverted, and at this time the road remains closed.

The news for traffic traveling along the highway only got worse today (6/19) as historic flooding along the Red River threatens the very bridge connecting Oklahoma with Texas.  If all those jokes about Texas not falling off into the Gulf of Mexico because Oklahoma sucks are to be believed, we could be in real trouble if the bridge closes.
