The new 46,000-square-foot residence hall will be located on the north side of the campus on what is now the parking lot between Crusader Way and Hardy Hall.

The university announced on its website that green space will be added between Hardy Hall, Burt Hall, and the new building so that the new residential area will assimilate to the existing quad.

The residence will be a dormitory-style structure that could house up to 214 students. It'll be co-ed because the floors and wings will be able to be closed off from one another.

Construction will begin this spring, and UMHB officials hope to complete the project in time for the 2018 fall semester.
