Carrie Underwood will make her debut as Maria in a live production of the Sound of Music next week.   Would you like to see how it all came together?  “The Making of The Sound of Music Live!” premieres on NBC tonight at 8.   The special gives us a behind the scenes look at the three hour live show that will air on December 5.

You'll see the creation of the sets,  the 40 piece orchestra recording the soundtrack, the choreography, and of course Carrie and the kids.

Check out the nationwide casting call to pick the seven Von Trapp children.

If you are as old as I am you know the story.  Maria is kind of unconventional, she leaves an Austrian convent to become a governess to the seven children of a naval officer widower.

She wins over the children and eventually the widower too.   They escape the Nazis and live happily ever after.

I must admit I love the movie, actually I love the songs. Yes, I can sing them all and I will be singing them with Carrie next Thursday.  Will You?
