What Detonating 20,000 Pounds of Fireworks Looks Like in Midland

Ever wondered what the controlled detonation of 20,000 pounds of fireworks looks like? Me neither. I never really considered it until the Midland, Texas Police Department released a video of its court-ordered destruction of 20,000 pounds (yes, 20,000 pounds) of illegal fireworks.

Midland's bomb squad along with some from Odessa, Amarillo and Lubbock assisted in the destruction of the illegal fireworks alongside the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
