You probably know by now there was a single winning ticket for that record Powerball lottery jackpot worth $590.5 million.  The Ticket was sold in Zephyrhills, Florida.  Population 13,337.

Zephyrhills is a small city in Pasco County, about 30 miles northeast of downtown Tampa. Once a rural farming town, it's now known as a hotbed for skydiving activity, and the home to large retiree mobile home parks and Zephyrhills bottled water.

Last year's city budget was 49 million.  The jackpot was worth 12 times that.

We don't know if it was one person or a group on that one winning ticket.   I really hope it was a pool.   I like it when we can spread the money around.

The winning numbers from Saturday night's drawing were: 10, 13, 14, 22 and 52, with a Powerball number of 11. The odds of winning were put at 1 in 175 million.

Florida Lottery office is open today, we may see the nation's newest millionaire today or they may get smart and visit with an attorney first.  The winning ticket holder's name will become part of the public record because a check will be made out to the winner, but they don't have to appear in public.

There were other winners too,  a ticket in Texas won one million dollars for getting five numbers right with no Powerball. If you just get the Powerball you get four bucks.
