Your Teenager is Costing You Almost 10 Thousand Dollars a Year
It is not your imagination, your teenager is eating you out of house and home.
According to a new study, the average teenager costs their parents $9,570 a year. Add it all up from ages 13 to 18 and the total is $57,420! Guess what you spend most of the money on? FOOD!
Teenagers eat their way through about $4,800 every year, or $400 every month. Dang that is a lot of food for one human being!
Other big costs are cell phone bills, spending money, trips, sports, school activities, and gas.
The study also found having a teenager drives up the electric bill by $36 a month.
No way, it’s got to be more than that with all the hot water they use after discovering the opposite sex. That water heater starts working Overtime!
So maybe we should keep a tally and demand they start paying us back after they get out and get a job, you know like a student loan. We could call it an “I Gave You Life Loan”!
