181 Years Later Texas Remembers The Alamo
March 6th, 1836 marked the final day of a 13-day-long siege at The Alamo by the Mexican forces under Santa Anna. 181 years later Texan's still remember the Alamo as one of the most important events of the Texas revolution.
The incredible story of what happened at the Alamo has been handed down in song and legend throughout our history. Johnny Cash released "The Alamo" in 1972.
In 2004, The Alamo story was released as a film starring Dennis Quaid and Billy Bob Thornton.
Over 2.5 million people visit the Alamo every year from all over the world. This past weekend The Alamo hosted it's 4th Annual Davy Crockett Fiddle Fest. This annual event has increased in popularity each year and takes place just before the anniversary of the battle.
