2021: The Year We Accept Aliens Exist
Hello, and welcome to 2021. Would you like to meet something from out of this world and solar system?
Somehow I went down the rabbit hole and discovered interstellar object 1 aka Oumuamua. Now, if you weren't aware the government did acknowledge the existence of UFO's, but mum is still the word on aliens.
Oumuamua brings out many questions that would lead to aliens, but we'll take a couple of steps back so that we can all go down the rabbit hole together. Close out your other tabs because I have a beaucoup of CREDITED sources.
Researchers went on to dub Oumuamua an asteroid, accept they discovered it wasn't really much like an asteroid at all.
Scientists then believed the object to be a comet, due to the fact that it seemed to be accelerating on its own. Although, comets generally have tails that contain the gases that were released which caused it to propel. The thing is, Oumuamua has no tail.
Next, Yale researchers believed Oumuamua to be a hydrogen iceberg.
“As ‘Oumuamua passed close to the Sun and received its warmth, melting hydrogen would have rapidly boiled off the icy surface,” said Laughlin, a professor of astronomy in Yale’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences, “providing the observed acceleration and also winnowing ‘Oumuamua down to its weird, elongated shape — much as a bar of soap becomes a thin sliver after many uses in the shower.”
But then Harvard scientists quickly debunked the hydrogen theory by stating that a hydrogen iceberg from so far away could not survive the medium of space and continue to grow as suggested before.
Eventually NASA decided to call it exactly what it is, the first known interstellar object to visit our solar system, 1I/2017 U1 ‘Oumuamua.
So what does Oumuamua even mean?
Oumuamua (pronounced oh MOO-uh MOO-uh), is Hawaiian for “a messenger from afar arriving first.”
Perfect if ya ask me.
Now, Avi Loeb, chair of Harvard’s Department of Astronomy is publishing his own book on January 26th. Word on the street from the New York Post is that Loeb is suggesting that Oumuamua may be the first way aliens have decided to interact with us.
I'm here for it, I mean as long as their friendly. If not someone call Will Smith quick! What are your thoughts? Do aliens exist and is Oumuamua the key to finding them?
