JAIL Ministry Banquet Celebrates Group’s 25th Anniversary

J.A.I.L. Ministry, Inc. celebrated its silver anniversary Thursday with an evening of shared fun, food and faith.

The ministry’s “Our Future – Our Hope” banquet was held in the Assembly Hall at the Bell County Expo Center. The banquet celebrated 25 years of Jesus Acts in Inmates Lives, a non-profit Christian organization that works with prison inmates, juvenile offenders, victims, law enforcement officials and affected families in various ways meant to improve their lives and help them deal with crisis.

As attendees dined on fajitas, guest speaker Bill Glass – a former Baylor and NFL champion football player – spoke about his experiences working with the J.A.I.L. program in a speech full of touching stories and a few good-natured jokes.

J.A.I.L. Ministry, Inc. was established in 1987 under the direction of the late Chaplain Harold Ellis. Along with prayer and Bible study services, the group also provides inmates with life skills and anger management classes and runs the Project Angel Tree charity, which provides Christmas gifts for children of inmates.
