Officials with Copperas Cove I.S.D. are investigating after a student was found in possession of a knife at an elementary school Wednesday.

The knife was confiscated from a student of House Creek Elementary. School officials sent a letter to parents informing them of the incident.

The letter read as follows:

Dear Parents/Guardians,

This letter is being sent to inform you that a knife was confiscated from a House Creek student this morning. Appropriate action was immediately taken.

It is our priority to keep your child and all children at House Creek safe at all times. Please be assured that immediate and appropriate actions were taken in regard to this situation. Also, please remind your child that any safety concerns should always be immediately reported to teachers or campus staff members. We will also continue to train and remind our students about how to respond appropriately when a safety concern arises.

Our goal is to maintain open communication with House Creek families. If you have any questions or concerns, please call our campus at 254-518-3000. If continues to be our pleasure to serve your children.
