Amazon announced Tuesday that construction has begun on a new fulfillment center in Dallas. The new 500,000 square-foot facility is expected to open in early 2016 and bring 500 new jobs to the state.Seattle-based Amazon already operates centers in Coppell, Haslet, and Shertz.  Amazon representative Mike Roth told the Associated Press that workers at the center will process small items such as books and electronics. In an interview with KXAS-TV, Roth said workers at the centers earn wages 30 percent higher than they would at traditional stores and receive benefits that begin at employment.

According to a report from The Financial, Amazon has invested over $400 million in Texas and created more than 3,500 full-time jobs. If you're interested in working in the new center or one of the three others, check out Amazon's Fulfillment Center Job Page.
