Killeen police are investigating a drive-by shooting that claimed the life of a teenager in Killeen Sunday morning. Officers responded to reports of multiple shots fired in the 4200 block of Tidal Wave Dr. around 1:45 a.m. When they arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound unconscious and not breathing. Justice of the Peace Garland Potvin pronounced the victim dead at the scene at 2:36 a.m. and ordered his body sent to the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas for autopsy. His identity was not released.

Witnesses told police that the shots were fired from a car that drove slowly by the house where the victim was found. Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division continued to investigate the shooting Sunday afternoon and say they will release more information as it becomes available.
