Temple police say two would-be narcotics purchasers chased a teen drug dealer in their car until he turned and began firing a handgun at them Saturday night.

The two buyers told police a man approached them in the 1200 block of W. Avenue H shortly before 1 a.m. and asked if they wanted to buy drugs. He reportedly told them to go to the 500 block of S. 23rd St. to meet a dealer.

When the buyers arrived to make the deal, a teenager approached their car, pointed a gun at them, and demanded money. After taking their cash, the suspect fled on foot.

The buyers chased the teen in their car until he began firing at them. Neither was injured, but police noticed damage to the vehicle.

The suspect was described as a black male, 16-18 years old, and was last seen wearing all black clothes and carrying a dark colored backpack.
