Another Fentanyl Death In Amarillo Leads To Arrest
As the end of the year is near, the trouble with fentanyl is still in the beginning stages. The new year is supposed to allow us to turn the page, and start fresh with a clean slate.
That's something that won't happen for so many that have lost their lives to this incredibly powerful and potent drug that's been introduced into the mainstream of the drug world in the last year or so.
Amarillo is not exempt from it either. We've seen quite a rise in fentanyl use and deaths in 2022, and it seems the problem isn't going away anytime soon. We've heard stories right here in the 806 about other drugs unknowingly being laced with fentanyl. A lot of those instances resulted in those individuals passing away due to an overdose.
Fentanyl seems to be catching up with meth on the drug scene. Meth has been the one that seems to be the easiest to obtain and make, but we hear less and less about meth and more about fentanyl these days. Now, as we wrap up the year, we have another person in custody related to fentanyl.
Ryan Conrad Baldauf was arrested on December 12th in relation to a death due to fentanyl. The death in question happened back in September, and police named Baldauf a person of interest during their investigation.
The arrest warrant was filed on December 5th and Baldauf was charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance Causing Death or Serious Bodily Injury.
