Another Student In Copperas Cove Is Hit By A Car
For the second time in the past week, a student from a Copperas Cove School has been struck by an automobile. This morning a student at S.C. Lee Jr. High was hit by a moving vehicle in front of the school just as class was about to begin. Copperas Cove police say the student was struck by a driver who had just dropped off another child and was leaving the school's bus loop.
Wendy Sledd, a spokeswoman for the Copperas Cove Independent School district, says the student hit by the vehicle was taken to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center. The name of the student, age, and extent of the injuries have not been released. Sledd said the student was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Copperas Cove Police did not mention if the driver had been ticketed for the incident.
