
Round Rock Named New Home Base For AUSL’s Texas Volts
Sports in the state of Texas are taken very seriously and everyone has their favorite team. It could be football, basketball, or even hockey. But, another sport, Softball, is about to take the field in a city keeping it weird.
Athletes Unlimited Softball League And Recent Growth
Athletes Unlimited Softball League, or AUSL, is a new sports league in the United States. It was started in 2024, and per the official website of the league, has six teams. The league saw success in its first year, and in 2025, saw Major League Baseball put monetary effort in making sure the league could maintain being profitable.

While the first season had teams traveling and not having a home field, the second season will feature teams in certain cities and having a designated home field. So with that being said, where does Round Rock, Texas play into this?

Well, the Volts will have a little bit of a Texas flair, as they'll be located in Round Rock for the upcoming season.
Why Are The Volts Going To Be In Round Rock?
As revealed by the Austin Business Journal, The AUSL stopped in Texas to showcase the athletes in the league. The response by the city was so great, that the league chose Round Rock for the Volts to reside there. Kim Ng, AUSL Commissioner said the following to ABJ:
“Texas is synonymous with softball excellence at every level, and the thousands of fans that came out to enjoy the AUSL last summer proved to us that this was a market that could support a full-time franchise."
The Texas Volts will play at Dell Diamond, which is the home of the Round Rock Express. The AUSL is coming to the Lone Star State and more sports in Texas is always a good thing!
