UPDATE: Due to predicted inclement weather Saturday, the City of Killeen surplus auction has been canceled. The auction will be rescheduled at a future date.

It's just something about an auctioneer's call that suckers us all in every time. Before I proceed to tell you about the City Of Killeen's Surplus Auction, take a moment to laugh with me at some recent political tomfoolery that's somewhat related to this story.

I don't give a DAMN what side of the aisle you're on THAT'S FUNNY RIGHT THERE.

Okay, The City of Killeen will hold a surplus auction September 22 at the Killeen Special Events Center located at 3301 S. WS Young Drive. Public viewing begins at 8 a.m. with the live auction beginning at 10 a.m.

Used vehicles and accessories, computers, office equipment, furniture and miscellaneous items no longer needed or used for City operations will be auctioned. Bidding is accepted in person during the live auction and all items are sold as is. Items must be paid for by cash, check or credit card immediately following the auction.

Some items are available for preview online at united-auctioneers.com. Terms and conditions and other important information can also be found at that address.

Good luck and happy bidding!
