A Bell County Sheriff's Deputy was severely injured in a single-vehicle accident Sunday night near Pendleton.

36-year-old Deputy Adam Davis was responding to a call of a man with a gun when he lost control of his cruiser on FM 1237 southwest of Pendleton. Police from Temple, Troy and Morgan’s Point resort responded to the scene of the accident which is still under investigation.

Davis – a former reserve deputy recently hired on full time – was on a ventilator at Scott and White Hospital in Temple in critical condition Monday morning.
