One of the great things I liked when I found myself in Belton for the first time is the mix of past and future. The old town feel - what some folks call the "Mayberry" effect - is definitely still there with the hundred-plus-year-old homes and downtown city blocks filled with shops and restaurants.

Needless to say, there's a real feeling of community among the merchants there. That's why the Belton Area Chamber alerted me to the ongoing Market Days put on by the Downtown Belton Merchants Association. Belton Market Day is a family-friendly event that happens the 3rd Saturday every month, which means the next event is coming up on March 19. Street vendors, food booths, children's activities, live entertainment and more will fill Central Avenue in Downtown Belton from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

For more information or how to become a vendor please contact Sandy Bigham, Vendor Coordinator at (254) 939-5699.
