After wrapping up another LONG day in studio #JamminOnTheJob I swung out to Harker Heights to check the good folks over House Of Coney Island to see what was on the menu there since I've been hearing some good things as of late including the fact that readers of the Killeen Daily Herald voted them as one of the best places for comfort food, gyros, wings and sandwiches/subs.

I've been to House of Coney Island before at their former location in Killeen and had their wings but this time I decided to step away from the norm and try something I never had before at their new location in Harker Heights where Galaxy B&G used to be at 121 E. Veterans Memorial Boulevard.

The very first thing that caught my eye was the "Big Ben Burger". This big boy was 2 1/3 beef patties covered in cheese on a toasted bun topped off with a FRIED EGG and HASH BROWNS. Now normally, my taste buds wouldn't allow me to make the connection between a fried egg on a burger but this time I let my preconceived notions go and tried it.

From the first bite, I was hooked. The second bite came in rapid succession before I could swallow the first. It was that good! I really didn't think that a fried egg and hash browns would take a double cheeseburger to another level.

Since this was a REALLY BIG burger, I shared it with my sons and told them to take a bite and just like their old man, they took a bite and a very quick second bite and they totally loved it as well. Go check them out!

House of Coney Island is open 7 days a week from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM Sunday through Wednesday and they are open from 11:00 AM to 4:00 AM Thursday through Saturday for your late night munchies.
