According to the Wall Street Journal, sales of bibles increased by a massive 36 percent in September compared to this time last year. Data from publishing sales tracker Circana BookScan shows that the Christian bible sales before September of 2025 averaged around 1.5 million per month. After the public assassination of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10, sales of Bibles increased to 2.4 million.

Charlie Kirk was a devoted Christian and was not shy about sharing his beliefs. He was often challenged to defend his Christian beliefs during his visits to college campuses. He also visited churches while launching TPUSA Faith. When asked what he wanted to be remembered for, Kirk said his faith.

Who Is Buying the Bibles?
According to the Wall Street Journal, HarperCollins Christian Publishing is seeing an increase in people between 18 and 34 years who show an interest in the Bible. President and chief executive of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, Mark Schoenwald told the Wall Street Journal that Charlie Kirk’s murder “awakened a lot of people.They started to think about what they believe and why.”
