Bible sales surge following the assassination of Christian conservative speaker Charlie Kirk. 

Bible Sales Explode Following September 10th 

According to the Wall Street Journal, sales of bibles increased by a massive 36 percent in September compared to this time last year. Data from publishing sales tracker Circana BookScan shows that the Christian bible sales before September of 2025  averaged around 1.5 million per month. After the public assassination of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10, sales of Bibles increased to 2.4 million.  

The Connection Between Charlie Kirk and the Bible 

Charlie Kirk was a devoted Christian and was not shy about sharing his beliefs. He was often challenged to defend his Christian beliefs during his visits to college campuses. He also visited churches while launching TPUSA Faith. When asked what he wanted to be remembered for, Kirk said his faith. 

Kirk’s Influence Extends Beyond Bible Sales 

According to TPUSAFaith, many churches have seen an increase in attendance and colleges are seeing more baptisms and students being born again.  

Who Is Buying the Bibles? 

According to the Wall Street Journal, HarperCollins Christian Publishing is seeing an increase in people between 18 and 34 years who show an interest in the Bible. President and chief executive of HarperCollins Christian Publishing, Mark Schoenwald told the Wall Street Journal that  Charlie Kirk’s murder  “awakened a lot of people.They started to think about what they believe and why.” 

Bear Grylls Tells the Greatest Story Ever Told 

Survivalist Bear Grylls has written a book about the life of Jesus Christ. “The Greatest Story Ever Told” offers Grylls take on the life of Jesus after consulting with biblical scholars. In an article written for SeenandUnseen.com, Grylls said, “The story I have written in my new book is His story, Jesus’ own story, told from the perspective of the first eyewit­nesses. I deliberately stuck closely to the accounts recorded in the four gospels, though some dialogue and other details have been added for context and flow. But not a single word of Jesus has been changed from the original accounts in the New Testament.”
