Bicycle Argument Escalates Into Shots Fired in Waco
An argument over a bicycle turned deadly in Waco this week after a teenager opened fire and shot two individuals on Monday afternoon.
Chelsea Edwards and Christy Soto with KWTX News 10 report that a Waco man is dead and an 11-year-old boy has suffered serious injuries as a result of the shooting.
Currently, the person suspected of the shooting is not in custody as of this morning. Police are looking for SirOcean Unique Calhoun. Calhoun is 17-years-old and has been named in multiple warrants that charge him with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the shooting. Police say Calhoun is believed to be armed and dangerous.
The shooting happened around 4 p.m. Monday in the 900 block of Houston Street. News 10 shared the comments of Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton who said this was a family fight over a bicycle. Willie Steve Kiser, 31, was hit twice in the back and once in the arm. He was pronounced dead at an area hospital. The 11-year-old boy who was also struck by gunfire is still in critical condition as of this morning.
Calhoun was last seen wearing blue-gray shorts. Police say he fled the scene of the shooting and was tracked to Trendwood Apartments in Waco but was never found to be there. Police are asking anyone with additional information on the location of SirOcean Unique Calhoun to call the Waco Police Department at 254-750-7500.
