Brett Eldredge's lifelong dream of celebrating the Chicago Cubs' World Series win isn't over yet.

As if getting to witness the end of the 108-year curse with his brother and dad by his side wasn't enough, Eldredge also got invited to walk the celebratory parade with the players and even sing "Go Cubs Go" with some of them on Friday (Nov. 4). The artist will walk from Wrigley Field to Grant Park with the players before breaking out the fight song.

He is clearly pumped, if the look on his face while holding the World Series trophy is any indication. He was so excited about the Cubs' potential victory that he actually decided to skip the CMA Awards on Wednesday night (Nov. 2) so he could be at the game in person with his family.

The longtime Cubs fan and Illinois native posed for a photo at the final game against the Cleveland Indians wearing his CMA hat and noting that he missed everyone, but he was clearly happy to be there with his family. After the win, Eldredge posted an adorable before and after photo of him as a child with his brother and dad in Cubs shirts, with one from the game.

Fans may have been disappointed that he didn't appear at the awards, but to be fair, he did warn them ahead of time via Snapchat.

“So a lot of people been wondering … 50th CMAs and Cubs are going to the World Series and it’s been 100 and something years. Which one do you do? Which one do you do?” Eldredge said. “It’s been my family’s dream from my grandparents all the way down to my father and my brother and I and my whole family to go to the World Series.”

Eldredge won't get to stay long in Chicago, though, as he will have to jet off after the parade for a couple of weekend shows before rushing back to Nashville to tape the CMA Country Christmas special. Hosted by Jennifer Nettles, the special features a host of stars and airs Nov. 28.

Chances are Eldredge will sing something from his new Christmas album, Glow, which just released Oct. 28. Channeling his inner Sinatra, Eldredge recorded one original song, the title track, as well as several holiday classics, including “Baby It’s Cold Outside” featuring pop singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor.
