DREAM OVER: Old Farmers Almanac Crushes Hopes for Snow in Central Texas This Holiday
If you want a white Christmas in central Texas this year, you better keep dreaming of one.
No Go for Central Texas Snow
The weather gods at The Old Farmer’s Almanac have spoken, declaring no snow for a central Texas Christmas this year. Regions in the Northeast, Upper Midwest, Lower Lakes, eastern Ohio Valley, and Alaska, still have a shot of a picture-perfect Christmas, though. If you need snow, focus on the picture below of my Texas pond back during Snowmageddon 2021. It is as close as you are going to get to snow at Christmas.
Blame it on the Wonky Texas Seasons
Here in central Texas, we have four seasons: Spring, Brown, 2nd Spring and Brown. We are currently experiencing our 2nd Spring with slightly cooler temperatures, but don’t worry. Mother Nature will zap us with frigid temperatures for a couple of days to kill everything off and then put us back into the brown season. You can check out the gallery below this article to see what a 2nd Spring looks like at my house. I feel bad for the honeybees, who are experiencing weather whiplash.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac’s Christmas Forecast for Texas
The Christmas forecast for Texas is basically the forecast for Easter.Sunny skies and minimal rain may make travel easier, but it does nothing in the way of helping me show off my new winter wardrobe that I bought in September.
Is There Any Hope for a Cold Winter in Texas?
Is there any way we will be able to wear anything faux furry this winter in Texas? According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac, Texas should see more rain than usual this winter with cold snaps here and there. That does not mean snow...at least not a lot of it. The almanac says we could have several instances of cold weather and rain at the same time which could produce frozen precipitation.
