A few changes have been made to the Heart O' Texas Fair and Rodeo in Waco this year. If you're headed there for the fun, here are a few things you should make note of.

The biggest change is the parking this year. Visitors should now head to North 42nd street to access parking for the fair. Parking is no longer accessible from Bosque as in previous years.

New security measures will also be added this year. Metal detection wands and bag checkers will be screening fair goers as they enter the fair and rodeo. Weapons, sharp metal objects, knives and scissors will all be prohibited.

Fair and Rodeo President and Chief Executive Officer Wes Allen told KWTX that the security measures have been put in place given that the fair grounds are so close to area schools and neighborhoods.

This will be the 63rd years of the Heart O' Texas Fair and Rodeo. Admission to the event is $5 for all ages 3 and up. All carnival rides cost two bucks. The Fair and Rodeo will run until October 15th.
