Friends and family of Doyle Johnson received a little justice on this day in 1934.

It was Christmas Day, 1932, the couple, along with rest of their gang made a stop in Temple Texas.

New Barrow Gang member William Daniel Jones spotted a car at 606 South 13th St in Temple with the keys in the ignition. He hopped in and tried to start it. It didn't turn over right away. Clyde Barrow came to help out. Doyle Johnson was napping when he heard the commotion of his family. He woke up and rushed out to try to stop the theft of his car. Suddenly a shot rang out from inside the vehicle. The bullet catching Mr. Johnson in the neck. He died the next day leaving behind a young wife and infant son.
