1990's basketball oddity Dennis Rodman has returned from a visit to North Korea.

Rodman spent four days in Pyongyang with three Harlem Globetrotters and a production crew for an HBO series. On Thursday, he attended a basketball game with Kim Jong-un and later partied with the North Korean dictator, who he described as "an awesome kid".

Rodman called Kim Jong-un and his father, Kim Jong-il, "great leaders", and said of Kim Jong-un:

He went on to say that the North Korean leader had made "a friend for life".

This comes just two weeks after North Korea conducted an underground nuclear test in defiance of international law, a test the North says was a warning to the United States to end perceived hostile policies toward the nation.
