Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-Off is Saturday

Killeen will participate in the annual Don’t Mess with Texas Trash-Off Saturday and is asking for volunteers to aid in the effort.

Last year, 440 volunteers in Killeen collected more than 7,000 pounds of trash during the Trash-Off. Event organizer Keep Killeen Beautiful needs community participation to make this year even more successful.

Volunteers will meet Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Killeen Special Events Center, located at 3301 S. WS Young Drive, before spreading out to clean up sites across the city. The event will conclude with an appreciation lunch at 10:30 a.m. at the Killeen Special Events Center.
