You know the old Texas Tourism tag line "It's Like A Whole 'Nother Country"? Well, I always say "Texas: Its Like A Whole 'Nother CONTINENT". We usually experience just about everything in Texas but Earthquakes is something that RARELY happens but when it does, it makes headlines.

According to KXAN, residents near the small Texas town of Nixon, felt an earthquake early Tuesday morning at about 5:52 AM. The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the quake registered a 3.1 magnitude on the Richter Scale with its depth reaching about 3.1 miles.

The quake struck about 6.2 miles east of the town of Nixon which is about 80 miles south of Austin and about 45 miles east of San Antonio.

According to the report, only one person living near Nixon and another in San Antonio reported feeling the shake so far.
