During a recent concert in Detroit, Mich., Eric Church let loose with a cover of Eminem's "Lose Yourself." Readers can press play above to watch the country superstar try his hand at the Detroit native's famous song, despite some nerves.

Before the opening notes to 2002's "Lose Yourself" rang out, Church explained to the crowd that he and his band were messing around before the show and somehow landed on the song. The singer flashes a grin, says, "God help me," and launches into the track as the crowd cheers in anticipation.

Although Church can't rhyme quite as fast as Eminem, he turns the track into an unorthodox cover. He and his band add their own country-rock flair to the well-known melody, using the first verse and chorus as the introduction to a track of their own.

Church has been dropping different covers into his Double Down Tour setlists since the trek began in January. Early on, the star attempted to cover Waylon Jennings' "I Ain't Living Long Like This" -- a song that, he admitted, he hadn't played for a while. According to Rolling Stone, Church plans to make a habit out of taking song suggestions from the audience, and selecting one each night that he and his band have never played before.

Church's Double Down Tour is currently scheduled to run through the spring. He's playing two show on back-to-back nights in each city on the trek.
