Eric Paslay Kicks Off the ‘Friday Night’ Party at WE Fest 2015
Eric Paslay brought out one of the bigger crowds seen so far at WE Fest 2015. The tall and relaxed singer-songwriter seems to be lining himself up for headliner status, which he made evident as he overcame minor technical difficulties and danced his way through several hits he's written, plus a few covers, during Friday's (Aug. 7) set.
"It's such an honor to play WE Fest. Perfect day," the Texan told the people of Detroit Lakes, Minn. He opened his set with "Song About a Girl" — the second single from his debut album — followed by "Like a Song" and "Never Really Wanted."
Fans were singing loudly when Paslay did Jake Owen's "Barefoot Blue Jean Night," Eli Young Band's "Even if It Breaks Your Heart," and Love and Theft's "Angel Eyes," all of which he had a hand in writing.
In the middle of his set, Paslay was faced with technical difficulties that left him waiting for a few minutes before he could perform again. He used his time wisely, however, signing autographs and taking selfies with eager fans who'd rushed to the front of the stage.
The highlight of the country singer's performance was without a doubt his upbeat, fun-lovin' cover of The Rolling Stones' mega hit "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction." Find video of that below (who knew Paslay had so much swagger?).
Other songs included his new single "She Don't Love You," which got the most whistles and claps from the audience, "All or Nothing" and "Keep on Fallin'." And of course it was appropriate to end his Friday early-evening show with his first single as a major act, "Friday Night."
TGIF, indeed! Tickets to WE Fest 2016 are already on sale right here.
