Few Arrests and Light Traffic On New Year’s Eve
Bell County had a low number of arrests connected to New Year’s Eve celebrations, and no major traffic accidents were recorded in Temple or Belton.
An article published Thursday in the Temple Daily Telegram reported only 8 arrests connected to drug or alcohol use, citing Bell County Jail records and law enforcement website RAIDSOnline.
Statements from dispatchers in Temple and Belton and the TexDOT indicated that traffic was light on I-35 during the day Wednesday with no fatal accidents.
One accident in Bruceville did send a man to Scott and White Hospital in serious condition. 48-year-old Randall Cortasie struck a horse while driving Wednesday. The impact caused his vehicle to leave the road and hit a cluster of trees on Business Highway 6 in Falls County.
