Galveston Family’s Angry Obit Crashes Funeral Home Website
A Galveston family recently penned an obituary so brutally honest that it crashed a Texas funeral home's website due to an overload of readers.
It's a very emotionally charged "Good Riddance" to a Mr. Leslie Ray Charping. Charping's daughter told KLTV she meant every word of the scathing letter, which includes a laundry list of her father's faults and wrongdoings. She mentions her father only joined the Navy to avoid a jail sentence, and comments on his history of mental illness. Part of the obit reads, "Leslie's passing will be missed only for what he never did".
The internet is describing this nightmarish obit as shocking to some, upsetting to others. People naturally want to see what the family wrote about Charping. So many, in fact, that the website to the Carnes Funeral Home crashed from the flood of visitors.
The obit says, "At a young age Leslie quickly became a model example of bad parenting combined with mental illness and a complete commitment to drinking, drugs, womanizing, and being generally offensive." Wow! His family goes on to say while they did post his obit, they will not be holding a funeral service for him. How sad. They do mention they hope to begin to heal with time. Hopefully they will be able to move on.
