Gary Allan and Sheryl Crow Announce Co-Headlining Tour
So far, just three dates have been added to the roster, but additional performances will be added soon. And if you think about it, Allan and Crow are a match made in country music Heaven. As a nine-time Grammy winner, Crow will add free and easy (pun intended) roots music to the mix, while Allan will bring classic country sounds to the stage. As a country music maverick who was raised in surfer-friendly California, Allan is well-heeled at bringing the country sound together with light rock and roll.
The 'Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)' hitmaker will likely be playing old hits and new favorites from his 2013 album 'Set You Free.' In February, the record was the most-sold album in the U.S., according to the Billboard 200 chart.
Crow released her debut country song, 'Easy,' earlier this year, and her next album, 'Feels Like Home' will hit stores in September -- conveniently right around the time that she's out on the road with Allan.
“Sheryl and I met while doing some guitar pulls earlier this year and started talking about doing something together," reads a statement from Allan on his website. "The timing seemed right and ‘Free and Easy’ just came natural to us both. If we’re near you, come on out. It’s going to be a good time.”
This news might come as a disappointment to Darius Rucker, who recently admitted that he had been talking about doing a tour with Crow. Although he was hoping plans would come together, it looks like that's not going to happen just yet.
Crow also released a statement about how excited she is for the Free and Easy Tour. "I love Gary’s music,” she reveals. “He puts on the kind of show that I like to go see, so I am thrilled to be out with him on tour, and really look forward to be able to perform my new music to the country fans this fall.”
So far, Allan and Crow have solidified a few dates in California for September, but more shows will be added to the list soon.
