Police were called to a home in the 2500 block of Osage Road in Gatesville Monday evening after a woman reported finding suspicious items in her home.
Police evacuated homes in the area after finding materials they believed might be explosive. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, a McLennan County bomb squad, and a Temple hazmat crew were on the scene late Monday to investigate.
The woman told police that the items belonged to a relative who lived in the home until about two weeks ago.
