I had no idea that the island of Galveston is so Christmassy. It is and they start early, in the month of November you can see shows, watch a big ole tree get lit and now ride on the 'Polar Express'.

That's right, KHOU11 writes about the latest addition to the "Winter Wonder Island" event. When you ride on the Polar Express you'll be accompanied by Santa and his elves, get Christmas treats, and if you're a kid (I think I qualify) receive a gift!

It's an hour-long ride brought to you by the Galveston Railroad Museum. Members can purchase tickets on August 22nd and everyone else can secure a seat starting on the 26th. Ticket prices range from $25 to $75.

It sounds like a lot of fun and worth a day trip. I've never read the Polar Express book and hardly remember the movie "oh that's Tom Hanks.. cool, oh he's that voice too... hmm okay cool".

Again, Galveston is like a little Christmas paradise, come December they have a 1-mile trail of lights, Santa half marathon, and 5k, Schlitterbahn even has a bunch of Holiday stuff. Take a trip to the beach this Christmas!
