This Ghost Ranch in New Mexico is the Perfect Desert Retreat
First of all, I know what you're thinking "Ghost Ranch?" I know, it caught my attention too! But if you were hoping for something out of "Unsolved Mysteries" I hate to disappoint you.
However, what I did find out about this New Mexico retreat is that it sounds like the perfect desert getaway, especially if you are a Georgia O'Keeffe fan!
Where is Ghost Ranch?
Ghost Ranch, according to their Wiki, is a "retreat and education center located close to the village of Abiquiú in Rio Arriba County in north central New Mexico, United States. It was the home and studio of Georgia O'Keeffe, as well as the subject of many of her paintings."
Ghost Ranch offers many activities that you would find at any ranch getaway such as trail rides and camping, and also some massage and body work, but they also provide an array of educational activities with on site museums and a library. Of course, in honor of the O'Keeffe there's photography and tours you can take.
Ghost Ranch offers over 150 retreats and workshops that focus on art, paleontology, archeology, geology and even some for children; so there's something for the entire family.
Ghost Ranch also offers 8 hiking trails, with a landscape that encompasses 21,000 acres of towering rock walls, vivid colors and vast skies.
Ghost Ranch didn't turn out to be what I thought; instead it turned out to be a place that I'm sure many look forward to visiting one day- it's the perfect place to disconnect with the outside world and connect with yourself. You can find out more about Ghost Ranch here.
