GoFundMe Started For Two Killeen, Texas Children Lost In Car Crash
An accident on April 6th that resulted in the death of two young children in Central Texas is still under investigation. Here are the details as we know them currently.
When And Where The Accident Occurred
The crash happened on US 190. According to our news partners at KWTX, three vehicles were involved in the incident. The cause of the collision was started by a 2004 Chevrolet pickup heading westbound.
The unidentified 17 year old driver made a U-turn into the area of two other cars, who were driving eastbound on US 190, a 2017 Ford F-350 and 2020 Chevrolet Sonic. At the time of writing, it is unknown if the individual behind the wheel of the F-350 is injured.
The driver of the pickup was hurt, but Texas DPS has not provided an update regarding his condition. Texas DPS reported that the 35 year old behind the wheel of the Chevrolet Sonic, who also remains unidentified, suffered serious injuries.
Texas DPS released a statement regarding the accident:
"Texas DPS would like to remind drivers to obey all traffic laws and signage. Disregarding traffic laws greatly increases the probability of being involved in a traffic crash. If you are doing a U-turn, you must give right-of-way to vehicles approaching from the front and/or rear."
How You Can Help The Family Of The Children
The two boys, aged 8 and 10, were riding in the Sonic. A GoFundMe was set up to help with expenses in regards to a funeral for the boys, named Devlin and Shae Eveleth. However, at the time of writing, names of the children have not been released by Texas DPS.
As this is a deleveoping story, we will have more information as it becomes available.
