Happy Flag Day in the USA!

It started 240 years ago today. The Second Continental Congress gave the green light to the design of the first American Flag. Our founding fathers agreed,

Resolved, that the Flag of the thirteen United States shall be thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the Union be thirteen stars, white on a blue field, representing a new constellation.

Officially, Flag day is an observance of the anniversary of the flag resolution of 1777. It was official established by the proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson on May 30th, 1916. On August 3rd, 1949, President Truman signed an act of congress that made June 14th National Flag Day!

So let's see the red, white, and blue out in central Texas today! When I grew up I can remember almost every house had a flag out front on flag day. If you've got your flag out today, we salute ya!
