A Central Texas family is mourning the loss of their son after a tragic trip to the hospital on Thursday morning in Harker Heights.

KWTX reports a local teen went for a Thursday morning run and was then riding in the car with a family member when the teenager passed out. The car pulled over in the 800 block of West Centex Expressway and called 9-1-1. The police report the family member began CPR but could not revive the teenager.

When emergency services arrived the teen was not breathing. They transported the boy to Seton Medical Center but could not revive the 19-year-old. His name has not been released. An autopsy has been ordered to try to find out what happened.

Please be careful when outdoors. It's summertime in Texas. The heat can really get to people very quickly. Stay cool, take breaks, and drink plenty of liquids.
