HEAR NOW: Kolby Cooper Put My Ex On Blast with New Heater ‘Breaking News’
Oh wait, I got that completely wrong. This song isn't actually about any of my exes. Really felt like it was.
Well, here I was thinking we were going to get an actual big news announcement from Kolby Cooper this week. Turns out he's been teasing the name of his new heater "Breaking News" right in front of our faces all week.
Despite being young, happily married to his high school sweetheart, and being the proud dad of two little girls, Cooper is somehow able to tap into the heartbreak of an old bitter divorced dad -- way better than most old bitter divorced dads.
He actually revealed his secret to us on Radio Texas, LIVE! recently. Turns out his friends haven't been quite as lucky at love and he finds most of his inspiration from them. Yeah, so a lot of his songs are actually biographical just not autobiographical -- Dude's got muses.
While we haven't got the story behind "Breaking News" just yet, no doubt this one finds similar inspiration and we are here for it. This ability that Cooper has of being able to observe human life, take it all in, and powerfully relay hurt and pain so well is true art. Check out his new song "Breaking News"
And we are proud to have Cooper on our lineup for Red Dirt BBQ & Music Festival this year. This will likely be your last chance our headliner Robert Earl Keen in Tyler, as the legendary singer, songwriter, and storyteller has announced he'll be retiring from touring in September.
While tickets for the festival have long been sold out, this year we are offering full refunds to anyone and have a WAIT LIST, that you can join here. As folks request refunds we will be reissuing those tickets to the people on the WAIT-LIST. So, you've still got a chance at tickets.
Keen will be joined by Texas Country stalwart Wade Bowen, fast rising stars Kolby Cooper, and Pecos & The Rooftops, plus Kylie Frey and William Beckmann.
In addition the festival will feature several of Texas’ best and most celebrated barbecue joints showcasing their smoked meats to attendees including: Brett's Backyard Bar-B-Que, Brisket Love Barbecue & Ice House, David Dan, Guess, Harlem Road Texas BBQ, Helberg Barbecue, Hill, Hutchins BBQ, Meat Church, Mimsy's Craft Barbecue, Poke In Da Event World Championship BBQ & Catering, Reveille Barbecue Co., Slaughter's BBQ Oasis, Smiley's Crafte Barbecue, Sunbird Barbecue, Tejas Chocolate & Barbecue, Country Tavern, Feges BBQ, Kreuz Market, Tyler's Barbeque, Noma, and more joints will be announced soon.
