Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has died according to Vice President Nicolas Maduro.

Just one hour after expelling 2 U.S. diplomats, accusing them of spying and poisoning him, the Venezuelan dictator passed away from cancer.

Chavez, of course, was highly critical of the United States, openly insulting its leaders on many occasions in order to score political points back home. As President and socialist dictator of Venezuela, he attacked the ideas of capitalism and American-style democracy while propping up Cuba and backing Leftist revolutions in neighboring states.

In his last public address, Chavez implored the Venezuelan people to elect Vice President Nicolas Maduro to succeed him. According to the Venezuelan constitution, the president of the National Assembly is to step in a case such as this. It also requires that an election be organized within the next 30 days.
