
Massive Semi Involved Collision Has Now Closed I-35 In Georgetown
Georgetown, Texas has had almost the entire city completely dependent on GPS to get anywhere this morning, and if you did not have the aid of technology, there is a good chance you got nowhere for several hours. Texas commuters hoping to get from northern Williamson County to anywhere south, and especially onward into Travis County find Interstate 35 to continue to be off limits as multiple accidents forced many drivers to reroute through neighborhoods.

The first calls for the traffic accidents began before sunrise when passing rain was still covering most of Central Texas. The dark roadways, high speeds, and wet pavement most likely played the largest role in several vehicles colliding, one of them an 18 wheeler.

The above video, provided by KVUE, showed several vehicles scattered across all of the southbound I-35 lanes, and an 18 wheeler that tore through the grassy right of way, most likely in an effort to not collide with more vehicles at a high rate of speed.

All of the south lanes of Interstate 35 were closed by around 7 AM this morning, and at last report are still closed for clean up and investigation now almost six hours later. According to this KVUE article, at last report, authorities were unable to declare whether any injuries had occurred.
The interstate remains closed between the 130 toll road interchange to just south of the Southwest Bypass around Inner Space.
