STEM, Art & Play: The Ultimate Kids’ Destination in Central Texas
As summer approaches and the kids are out of school it may be hard to find entertaining and educational activities for them to participate while out of school. Well, I know a place that is not only air-conditioned (which is better than most parks in Texas), but it is also an interactive wonderland of fun that will actually engage your kid's brain without them knowing.
Experience Interactive Learning Through Play
This is not a quiet museum where you have to tiptoe around and stare at things through glass. The Temple Children's Museum is geared toward discovery, which means touching and pretending and playing is not only okay it is also half the fun. Your kids can put on different 'grown-up' uniforms (vet, builder, pizza baker, etc.), and also develop critical thinking and social skills through imaginative play.
Plan Your Visit: Hours, Admission & Membership Perks
Even in today's modern world of learning, the STEAM aspect is particularly fun. All the nooks and crannies are mini classrooms in disguise - whether it's engineering with blocks, counting in the grocery exhibit, or differences of textures and patterns in the art zones. It is trickery to get your kids to learn, and we all know that is a parent's dream summer vacation activity.
Additionally, it is a very good way to break the routine. When the pool is boring, the tablet becomes a zombie machine, and your patience has evaporated thinner than the sunscreen on their nose, the museum is a no-brainer. It's fun, it is safe, and it expends enough energy that may get you a nap from them.
