The Texas Forestry Museum is inviting the public to enjoy the holiday break by playing the Sawmill Detective game. Players form teams and use clues to solve the sawmill mystery. The first team to solve the mystery wins a prize.

The Sawmill Detective game is a free activity and fun for all ages. It will be available from December 21, 2024, through January 7, 2025, during museum hours. Photos will be taken at the event for promotional materials.

The Texas Forestry Museum, a private non-profit organization, is located at 1905 Atkinson Dr. in Lufkin. They are open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, except for major holidays.

The education of the public, from preschool through senior adult, about the heritage of forestry and sound forestry practices in Texas is a priority of the museum. The collections of the Texas Forestry Museum are held as a public trust.
