
13 Defendants Sentenced in Massive Texas Drug and Gun Case
Thirteen defendants were recently sentenced in Texas for serious drug and gun crimes as part of the Homeland Security Task Force Initiative. The defendants received a combined 915 months in prison for dealing drugs, conspiracy to deal drugs, and unlawfully possessing firearms. The details regarding this case were released by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas.
Drugs, Guns, and Cash Seized in Operation
In the operation, law enforcement seized 4.1 kilograms of marijuana, 282 grams of crack cocaine, 2.3 kilograms of cocaine, 1.2 kilograms of methamphetamine, 6.1 grams of fentanyl, 12 firearms, 2 clock switches, and $11,985 in U.S. currency.
The final sentencing in the investigation took place on May 7, 2026.

- Sebastian Medlock – 26 months
This case was part of the Homeland Security Task Force established under Executive Order 14159, which officials say is aimed at protecting Americans from criminal organizations. The task force is dedicated to eliminating criminal cartels, foreign gangs, transactional criminal organizations, and human smuggling and trafficking operating in the United States and abroad.

How Hot Spot Policing Was Used in Texas
The Violent Crime Reduction Plan utilized hot spot policing across 47 neighborhoods identifying those with the highest rates of violent crime. These neighborhoods were selected based on comprehensive statistical research conducted by a local university.
