A recent study revealed the unfortunate truth about hotels in the Lone Star State. It turns out that two Texas cities have some of the dirtiest hotels in the country. Let that sink in.

First and foremost, I love this great state. Road-tripping across Texas is one of my favorite things to do. Even though I’ve always been a homebody, I do love to get out and explore.

Why Hotel Stays Can Be Difficult for Me

However, being a homebody means that I prefer to relax in my own personal sanctuary most of the time. So, I have a hard time getting a good night’s sleep in a hotel. It’s always been that way for me.

And here’s the thing – I have a hard time sleeping in the cleanest of clean hotels. So, imagine what it’s like for me when staying in a not-so-clean hotel. I kid you not when I say that I’ve asked for my money back due to a hotel room being dirty. I hate to complain, but sometimes you have to speak up when you feel you’re not getting your money’s worth.

Study Finds Laredo and Corpus Christi Hotels Among Dirtiest in U.S.

So, I was very interested in the results of a study by Boutique Hotel Hub. Researchers compared Booking.com cleanliness scores of hotels in U.S. cities with populations of 250,000 or more. They found Laredo and Corpus Christi were among the ten cities with the dirtiest hotel rooms in America.

As unfortunate as the news is, I will say that I stayed in hotels in both of those cities and had no complaints. It’s just that you may want to do plenty of research before booking a room there (or anywhere else, for that matter).
